Getting Started
How long does setup take?
Ten minutes. Four things, and your account works. The rest can wait.
I'm not very technical. Is this for me?
Yes. CAEVO is built for older eyes, with larger type, plain language, and a design tested on small screens and older phones.
What if I set something up wrong?
Nothing here is permanent. You can’t break it. Anything you turn on, you can turn off.
Is CAEVO for caregivers or for people planning their own aging?
Both. Every account has both hubs, and you can add and switch between more than one family, like a spouse’s parents and your own.
Plans & Pricing
Is CAEVO free?
To start, yes. Essentials is free, always, for one person. It includes both libraries and the everyday tools on each side, with no credit card required.
What do the paid plans add?
Guided ($9.99 a month) adds Ask EVO, a tailored improvement plan, Medicaid spend-down flagging, and coverage guidance. Family ($19.99 a month) adds five seats in one household, each with their own login and their own consented view.
Is there a free trial?
There’s no trial clock. Essentials is free for as long as you want it.
Is billing monthly or yearly?
Both. Guided is $9.99 a month or $99 a year. Family is $19.99 a month or $199 a year.
Does the Family plan cover everyone?
One Family subscription covers up to five people: the person aging and up to four family members.
Can I switch plans or cancel?
Yes, any time.
My advisor, attorney, home care agency, or community offered me CAEVO. Do I pay?
If your organization covers it, you don’t need a paid plan. Check with them, or contact us to confirm before you sign up for anything.
Privacy & Security
Is my family's information safe?
Yes. It’s encrypted with bank-level, 256-bit security and stored on US infrastructure, and the person aging controls what’s shared. See how we protect your data.
Who can see what I share?
Only the people you choose. Nothing is shared by default, you grant access one item at a time, and you can take it back. Every change is written to a log your family can read.
Do you sell my information?
No. We don’t sell, rent, or broker it, and it’s never used for advertising.
Does CAEVO read my documents?
No. Documents in the Family Ready Folder are encrypted and visible only to you and anyone in your Family Loop you’ve made an admin. The platform doesn’t scan or read what’s uploaded.
Family Loop & Sharing
What is the Family Loop?
One update, everyone informed. Say it once instead of texting the same thing to five people. The person aging decides what gets shared.
Will I see everything about my parent?
No, you see what they choose to share. That’s on purpose. It keeps CAEVO from feeling like it’s watching anyone.
My mother would never use an app.
She doesn’t have to. You can run this on your own, and she can join in as much or as little as she wants.
Can a professional see my information?
Only if you invite them, at a level you set. You can remove them any time, and their access is logged where your family can see it.
Ask EVO
What is EVO?
CAEVO’s AI companion. It knows your state, your stage, and what you asked last week.
Is EVO a doctor?
No. It doesn’t diagnose or prescribe. When something’s medical, it tells you to call your doctor.
How does EVO answer?
It starts with your own plan, then verified programs for your state. Ask EVO answers from your own plan first, then verified programs for your state, then general knowledge, and it tells you when it’s reaching for that last one.
Are my conversations used to train AI models?
No, not by us or by anyone else.
Money, Benefits & Paperwork
Does Medicare pay for a nursing home?
No. Care runs $9,581 a month for a semi-private room (CareScout/Genworth, 2025). We share that early so you can plan with time on your side.
What's the Medicaid look-back?
Five years. Medicaid reviews asset transfers from the previous 60 months, which is why early planning gives you more choices.
Can CAEVO find benefits I qualify for?
It shows you the programs in your state and county, like waivers, transportation, meals, respite, and legal aid, across all 50 states and DC.
Which documents do I need?
It depends on your stage. CAEVO tells you which ones matter for where you are right now, and the Family Ready Folder keeps them in one place for when the hospital asks.
How current is the state information?
It’s reviewed every quarter, with an extra update if a major rule change lands in between.
For Professionals & Partners
How can my organization work with CAEVO?
Three ways: refer clients, sponsor access for a group, or build CAEVO into a program you already run. See partner options or talk to our team.
Can I see my clients' information?
Only what they choose to share. You can tell a household is active, but not what’s in it unless they invite you.
Does it cost my clients anything?
Families can start free. If your organization sponsors access, you cover it.
About CAEVO
Who's behind CAEVO?
Lauren and Jon Howard, both only children, built it after watching their own parents go through caregiving. Read their story
How does CAEVO make money?
From subscriptions and from organizations that offer it to the families they serve. We don’t take placement commissions or referral fees.
What is CAEVO not?
Not a doctor, a lawyer, or a financial advisor. CAEVO guides, and works alongside the professionals you trust.
When might a person help first?
If your family needs a placement this week, a person can help faster than an app.
How do I reach someone?
Every message reaches a person who works on CAEVO. Most get a first reply within one to two business days. Contact us
Built from lived experience.
We watched people we love care for people they love, through cancer, dementia, and a fall that changed everything overnight. That is why CAEVO exists.
As we watched our own parents age, we saw something bigger than caregiving. They wanted to live their lives more fully, and their families wanted to support them through every chapter. Plan early, and it is a conversation around the kitchen table.

What families are saying — on both sides of care
“A few months ago, there was a change in my father in law’s wife’s health. All the questions showed up. We started realizing how much of this process and what was to come was an unknown to us. It was scary and confusing to say the least. We heard about CAEVO and realized after a little investigation that it was the resource we needed. Memory loss and early dementia was in the future. CAEVO gave our family a guide and the resources we needed. Forever grateful for this resource and the team who made it happen. “
Kieth P., CAEVO User
“Great product and a huge stress relief. My parents are both approaching 80 and I’m fairly unorganized as it is. CAEVO has helped keep tabs and important info on my parents at my fingertips without stressing or sacrificing time with my kids.”
Nick F., CAEVO User
“I’m also a user, and here’s my honest take.
I used CAEVO to help plan care for my dad. My sister and I are his co-conservators, and keeping track of everything was a mess.
If you’re caring for a parent or planning for your own later years, it’s worth downloading.”
